The evolution of shoes.

This is what I've been primarily working on for the past few weeks. I'm trying to build shoes that are made from 100% recycled parts, including leather, thread, and laces scavenged from thrift stores, waxed canvas from awning scrap, broken bicycled wheels from the trash. Understanding the shape of the foot is my biggest obstacle, but it's progressing. What do you think?

A Book Repair Job

This was a very cool book, with lots of interesting typographic elements and a couple of image plates. The original was just bound with horrible staples, but the paper was still quite strong. I had to mend most of the folios, resew, and I gave the cover a new, thick backing.

Japanese Paper: book repair lust!

A sad, rusty book from the staples.
